Déjà Vu, seeing the future - what does it mean?
According to Inverse.com, what we are actually experiencing is call déjà rêvé. Déjà vu basically means, “already seen” and déjà rêvé (day-zha ruh-vay) means “already dreamed”. So an example would be if you walked into a house that was built around the same time as your grandma’s house. It feels familiar but you know you’ve never been there. Déjà rêvé would be like if you had a dream that you stubbed your toe and then later on stubbed your toe in the exact same way.
A french team of scientists did a study on déjà vu vs. déjà rêvé and they were able to classify it into three different categories.
1. Episodic-like déjà rêve: the most lucid form. Basically, any form of déjà rêvé that can be pinpointed to an actual, specific dream.
2. Familiarity-like déjà rêvé: the blurry form. This type is associated with the sensation of re-experiencing a dream, but without being able to determine the specific dream, or when you had it.
3. Dreamy state déjà rêvé: the mysterious form. This is any déjà rêvé that is associated with the feeling of actually being in a dream. The subject might confuse reality for being asleep.
Cecilia actually has a dreamy state of déjà rêvé story! "I always used to have dreams about working when I was a makeup artist and they would be weird stress dreams like I forgot all my brushes or something like that. That summer I also had my morning alarm set to 'Can’t Stop the Feeling' by Justin Timberlake. I’d get up super duper early and go do wedding makeup and they would almost always be playing upbeat, happy music while getting ready. And inevitably, if 'Can’t stop the feeling came on', I’d trip out and be like, omg am I sleeping??? To this day I have a knee jerk reaction when I hear that song and have to wonder if I’m asleep and my alarm is going off." I’ll put the music video in the notes for the listeners.

Sleep tight! And remember, don’t let the déjà rêvé dreams bite! Night night!
